Work to do something to help them and, if you are financially able, write a check to help others.

Food pantries are so low on donations of food AND volunteers because those who used to be able to volunteer have often found themselves in positions where they are hurting and working over-over time just to pay rent. Shelters, same thing.

Animal shelters are being hit so hard in this economy as people are losing housing and even those who keep their housing are often losing jobs and unable to pay anything for animal care so animals are being put into shelters which try to keep them as long as they can but are killing huge numbers of them. They need donations of blankets, bedding (old sheets, towels), hoses, food - well, oodles of stuff.

You and your daughters can make a difference in the lives of others.

If that is what you choose to do.

Or you can watch high def tv while sipping coffee and bemoan who far away all the suffering is.

If that is what you choose.Woman in Lovehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12568575928756713967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7850827606574502347.post-29875172118422862292010-03-25T17:27:57.674-07:002010-03-25T17:27:57.674-07:00And on so many levels they are just still too youn...And on so many levels they are just still too young to wrap their heads around the horror and the suffering... even my daughter, who raised money with classmates and has watched the devastation on tv, cannot comprehend. Nor can I.

My husband is leaving for Haiti in May on a mission trip. If you knew him you would be shocked; he is not "that person". God knows what he'll experience while he's there but as little as it is, he is doing what he can.

Lovely post, thank you for sharing your thoughts.Sharon Kendrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10001691381155082817noreply@blogger.com
